ALAC 2011
The Australian Light Aircraft Championships for 2011 were proudly hosted by Royal Newcastle Aero Club on 25th and 26th March 2011. It was a successful week won by the Royal Aero Club of Western Australia, second place went to the Aero Club of Southern Tasmania with Royal Newcastle Aero Club taking out third place. Flying events included Spot Landing, Forced Landing, Streamer Cutting, Aerobatics and Formation Flying.
The ALAC's were preceded by the Wings Competition between Australia and New Zealand on Wednesday 24th March. Coming into the event both countries had held the title nine times so there were lots friendships to renew, but the competition in the air was fierce with New Zealand taking the trophy home.
