RNAC Instructors

Phil Unicomb is our Chief Flying Instructor, flying from Tuesday to Saturday. Bob Davies is our Senior Grade 2 Instructor available from Thursday to Monday each week. James Rose is a Grade 2 Instructor available from Sunday to Thursday each week. Casual Instructors include Greg Gibbon on Friday and Sunday, Trevor Bright most Sundays, as well as Georgia Morris on an on call basis.

Flight Without Fear
If the idea of flying scares you, we suggest you face your fear head-on and enrol in the Royal NEwcastle Aero Club's Flight Without Fear course beginning Monday 22nd April each Monday night for 6 weeks.

Microlight Flying
Microlight flying is a growing sport that commenced in the 1980’s as an affordable option of flying that also allowed easy transport of the aircraft. In Australia, the term microlight is used to describe a one or two seat weight-shift aircraft with a maximum take off weight of 600kg. They are also referred to as “Trikes”.

The mission of the Royal Newcastle Aero Club is to promote Aeronautics and the interest of its members.

What is a Trial Introductory Flight (TIF)
The TIF is an obligation free flight where you are encouraged to take off and fly the aeroplane under the supervision of an instructor. After about half an hour, your instructor will land the aeroplane for you.
