The 80's
During 1980, a large scale Field Day sponsored by NBN-TV, saw 11,000 members of the public view the Australian Aerobatic Team in action before their departure for America and the World Titles.

1980 - 1990

The Club took delivery of a new Cessna 172 VH-RNX. During the eighties a commuter service owned by a private firm 'Club air' operated two Nomad passenger aircraft on scheduled services to Sydney from Maitland, and a charter service owned by 'Travmar' operated two DC 3 aircraft from the Club's airfield.


During 1982 Bradmill Textile Industries, whose factory is adjacent to the airfield, sponsored the 4th Great Tiger Moth Air Race and Air Show. A Cessna 182 VH-FPD and Cessna 152 were acquisitioned, followed the next year in 1983 a highly successful Flying Scholarship was sponsored by NBN-TV and Spaceway Homes benefited the Club with a surge of new members.


During 1989 Bernie Sarroff retired after a record 12 years service as Chief Flying Instructor
